Today, in Sana'a, Shamil Bank of Yemen & Bahrain (SBYB) has concluded the training program for Western Union operations and raising awareness of the risks of money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud, and performing the tasks assigned to frontline staff to provide the service.
The implementation of this training program was within the framework of the bank's launching the new training year 2023, as the training program lasted for three (3) days, from January 20th to January 23rd, 2023.
Fifty (50) male and female trainees of the bank staff and its agents from different exchange companies and facilities have participated in this program, as the program aimed to provide the trainees with the skills and knowledge of providing service and performing their various roles towards raising awareness of the risks of money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud, and what is also related to Western Union operations. and the tasks assigned to the front-line staff to provide the service.
Two training courses were presented in the program: the first course entitled (raising awareness of the risks of money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud), presented by Mr. Hani Abdul-Muttalib, Deputy Director of Compliance Department at the bank, and the second course entitled (Western Union operations and the tasks assigned to frontline staff to provide the service), presented by Mr. Ameen Mohammed Al-Raimi, Assistant General Manager of Branch Support Affairs in the bank.
During the program, Mr. Ameen Mohammed Al-Raimi, Assistant General Manager for Branch Support Affairs, explained that the training program comes within the framework of the bank's senior management's interest in developing the skills and knowledge of the bank staff and agents and raising their financial and banking awareness in order to enhance the provision of Banking services according to best practices and modern banking standards.
